Yankees troll Indians before ALDS by touting LeBron James’ fandom
The New York Yankees are set to take on the Cleveland Indians in the American League Division Series beginning with Game 1 Thursday at Progressive Field. And the Bronx Bombers got things started with some Grade-A trolling by touting LeBron James’ Yankees fandom.
The Yankees took to Twitter to showcase the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar happily showcasing a team cap.

What the Yankees neglected to note in their trolling tweet was that the photograph of James and the Yankees cap was from 10 years ago. Sure, the image came from the 2007 ALDS between the Yankees and Indians, so that has to sting a little bit for the Indians all these years later.
But it merits pointing out that James has since at least publicly switched allegiances to his hometown Indians. The Cavs superstar was all in on the Indians’ run to the World Series last season. James even gifted Indians players custom headphones ahead of game 1 of the World Series last season.
And when the Indians lost in Game 7 to the Chicago Cubs in heartbreaking fashion? James shot out a video to the team offering his support and encouragement.
That said, in the midst of last year’s World Series, James indicated that while he was pulling for the Indians in Fall Classic, he nevertheless remains a Yankees fan. So, perhaps it was fair game for the Yankees to claim James as one of their own.
Either way, some hardcore shade thrown Cleveland’s way on this one.
