Anthony Scaramucci: Ivanka Trump is why Tom Brady didn’t visit White House
Anthony Scaramucci, who briefly held the job of White House communications director a few months back, has posited an arguably absurd theory to explain why Tom Brady didn’t visit the Donald Trump White House earlier this year along with many of his New England Patriots teammates.
And it all involves a purported relationship with the President’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, many years ago that Brady’s wife, Gisele, still harbors jealousy over.
Scaramucci, appearing Monday night on “TMZ Live” forwarded his theory as follows:
“I don’t 100 percent know, but my guess is, which is typical, there could be a little bit of jealousy there and protection and possession of Tom Brady, and she probably didn’t want him to go,” Scaramucci said, as transcribed by NESN. “I think Gisele shut him down. Maybe there was a relationship between him and Ivanka at some point, I have no idea. … Maybe it was someone else, I don’t know.”
There certainly are quite a few qualifiers from Scaramucci in his comments, which essentially suggest he even doubts the rumor is true. If that’s the case, then why even bother mentioning it?
Reports at the time of the Patriots’ White House visit in back in April suggested that Brady didn’t attend to spend time with his mother during her ultimately successful battle with cancer. That seems much more plausible than the gossipy tripe Scaramucci is attempting to pass along. Even he admits everything he insinuated was nothing more than a “guess.”
For what it’s worth, a Trump family insider denied the allegations to TMZ, saying of Brady and Ivanka, “While they have known each other for years, this is not true.”
