The Cleveland Indians are in the midst of an incredible winning streak, now having won an American League-record-tying 20 games after Tuesday’s 2-0 shutout victory over the Detroit Tigers. And the team’s mascot, Slider, doesn’t want fans to miss out on the chance to witness history on Wednesday.
The Indians’ official Twitter account posted an “excuse note” from Slider so fans can get out of work, school, etc. to take in the team’s possibly history-making tilt against the Tigers Wednesday at Progressive Field.

Right-hander Mike Clevinger takes the mound making a bid for history against Tigers righty Buck Farmer. First pitch is set for 12:10. And with Slider’s excuse note, there’s no reason for fans to miss out. Expect the ballpark to be at full capacity.
