Cubs catcher claims hacking after sliding into ex-porn star’s DMs

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras claims he was hacked amid a scandal spawned by him allegedly sliding into the DMs of former adult film star Mia Khalifa.

It all started when Khalifa outed Conteras for sending her direct messages about wanting to meet her.

“Cubbies, your man’s is wandering around left field,” Khalifa tweeted Tuesday. “Can you come get him?”

Khalifa shared screenshots of the direct messages as well, in which Contreras says he’s a “big fan” of the former porn star and that “[i]t will be great if you just say hi.”

In the wake of the allegations, Deadspin reported that a spokesperson for Contreras’ agency, Octagon Baseball, reached out to the site to indicate Conteras’ “twitter account was hacked” and efforts currently are in the works to resolve the matter.

But something isn’t quite right with Contreras’ agency claiming a hack job. As noted by Big League Stew, there are several dispatches from Contreras that appear authentic that were issued within the very time frame when the alleged hacking was said to be occurring.

Khalifa has been at the center of several sports-related controversies involving high-profile athletes, including previously outing Chad Kelly for sliding into her DMs when he was a quarterback at Ole Miss.

All that said, given Khalifa touts herself as The DC Sports Girl” in her Twitter bio, it’s hardly surprising she opted to out a rival Cubs player over such tawdry activities … that is if Contreras wasn’t actually hacked.

Although it goes without saying that Contreras isn’t the first pro athlete to cry hack when arguably unflattering social media activity sees the light of the day. Nor will he be the last, either.
