Steelers K Chris Boswell ejected from Stanley Cup game for banging on glass?
Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell was among the enthusiastic Penguins fans in attendance for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final at PPG Paints Arena. In Boswell’s case, though, perhaps a bit too enthusiastic, apparently.
Boswell took to Twitter Thursday night to announce he had been ejected from the Penguins’ 6-0 throttling of the Nashville Predators for … banging on the glass?
Got kicked out for banging on the glass?! Man that's crazy!! Sorry we just won two fights!

As noted by Puck Daddy, other members of the Steelers organization were in attendance as the Penguins staked themselves a 3-2 series lead. The NHL tweeted out a photo of the Steelers’ offensive line taking in the action.

It would seem the linemen behaved themselves accordingly — unlike former Jets offensive lineman Nick Mangold at a Penguins-Rangers playoff game last year — as no word has gotten out that any of them were ejected. Still, how does banging on the glass necessitate an ejection? It’s a commonly occurring act at every NHL game, Stanley Cup Final or otherwise.
One thing’s for sure, had Ben Roethlisberger been at the game with Boswell, he probably would have made the same bizarre expression he did a few weeks ago at a Penguins playoff game over his teammate getting kicked out.
