Daughter of Chrissy Teigen, John Legend threw out adorable first pitch (vid/pics)

The daughter of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend showcased her pitching prowess while throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Safeco Field Tuesday night before the Seattle Mariners hosted the Minnesota Twins. Perhaps what makes the pitch so notable — outside the superstar parentage, of course — is that the superstar couple’s daughter is just over 15 months old.

That’s right, the individual throwing the ceremonial pitch at Safeco was born on April 14, 2016. Not surprisingly, Teigen and Legend served as escorts to Luna Simone’s visit to the mound. Or more accurately, a few feet away from home plate.

Third time’s a charm for little Luna. And how about Robinson Cano getting close enough for the adorable toddler the chance to accomplish her pitch? 50 Cent wonders why he didn’t get such preferential treatment. For obvious reasons.

Teigen, one of the more active celebrities on social media (and no slouch at ceremonial pitches in her own right), of course chronicled Luna’s preparation, the pitch and the aftermath.

Adorable, of course. And let’s just say that Teigen’s frequent social media musings led to the entire event taking place. Teigen mused on Twitter recently that she was in Seattle, where she went to high school, to attend one of hubby Legend’s shows. This prompted Mariners senior marketing manager Camden Finney to reach out to the supermodel-turned-business mogul.

Okay, Teigen ended up not being able to ump, probably due to some draconian umpire’s union policy or something. Perhaps that’s for the best, though.

In any event, let’s make it clear that the opportunity afforded Teigen and Legend is probably unique to those among their A-list status. Let’s just say don’t expect the same thing to happen to you the next time you mention on Twitter you’re in Seattle.
