Tom Brady gives shout out to Stephen Curry, LeBron James
Tom Brady proclaimed his excitement for the NBA Finals but did so in a slyly diplomatic manner by giving shout outs on social media to both Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
At just about tip-off time of Game 1 of the Finals between Curry’s Golden State Warriors and James’ Cleveland Cavaliers, Brady — a known social media provocateur — took to Instagram to wish both superstar players good luck.
Odds are if forced to take sides, Brady would opt to support the Warriors. The New England Patriots quarterback, after all, is a Bay Area native and just happens to also be endorsed by Under Armour, just like Curry (hence the signed sneakers in the pic).
However, lending some credence to the possibility that Brady just might be a big-time King James backer was an Instagram post in which he wished both the Cavaliers and Celtics — specifically James and Isaiah Thomas — good luck in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Brady obviously has regional allegiances to the Boston-based Celtics, so for him to wish James and the Cavs good luck certainly is interesting.
In the end, it was just Brady indicating he’s hoping for an entertaining and competitive NBA Finals. Although Game 1, a 113-91 beat down by the Warriors, certainly doesn’t lend well to that hope. But let’s remember, the Cavaliers were blown out in Games 1 and 2 last season and came back from a 3-1 series deficit to win the title.
Either way the third straight Finals match-up between the Warriors and Cavaliers plays out, though, it looks like Brady will be covered. But what else should we expect from the always savvy Tom Brady?
