Floyd Mayweather shows off stacks of cash after betting on Isaiah Thomas, Celtics (pic)

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a long history of showcasing the stacks of cash he has won on high-money wagers over the years. And Isaiah Thomas’ epic performance in the Boston Celtics’ 129-119 Game 2 overtime victory over the Washington Wizards helped the brash boxer do so once again.

Mayweather took to Instagram to boast his big-time winnings after betting on the Celtics and Thomas, who scored an amazing 53 points in the victory. Mawyweather posted a photograph showing stacks of $100 bills sitting in his lap.

I bet on @isaiahthomas today! #TMT

Thomas’ feat made that much more inspiring given it came on what would have been his sister’s 23rd birthday. Thomas’ sister tragically died on April 15 in a car accident.

Thomas and Mayweather are apparently pals, so it’s not surprising Thomas’ family tragedy proved to be motivation enough for Mayweather to lay down a big wager.

Although, as noted earlier, it doesn’t take much to inspire Mayweather to do such things … and then brag about them on social media (see here and here).

The Celtics will look to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series when it shifts to Verizon Center on Thursday. Perhaps Mayweather will lay down a huge wager on that game, too.
