Todd Heap, family launch ‘Hugs from Holly’ in honor of late daughter
Former Baltimore Ravens player Todd Heap and wife Ashley will honor late daughter Holly on what would have been her fourth birthday on Wednesday.
Holly tragically died last month when she was run over by her father as he moved a truck in the driveway. The incident, which occurred at the Heap’s Phoenix home on April 15, has been ruled an accident.
In the wake of the heartbreaking tragedy, the Heaps have launched “Hugs from Holly,” a campaign to memorialize Holly.
Join us tomorrow in honoring #HugsFromHollyDay.

“Holly was known to give the best hugs, and her love for everyone and everything in life was contagious,” reads a statement on the “Hugs from Holly” site’s home page. “Let’s spread this joy as we scatter sunshine in Holly’s honor on her birthday.”
The Heaps ask that people wear pink on Wednesday while also doing something to help others. It is asked that those who take part in the campaign to document their acts and post them on social media using the hashtag #hugsfromhollyday.
“Smile more,” the site reads. “Compliment somebody. Write a kind note. Share treats (or chicken nuggets). Do a free lemonade stand. Leave a bigger tip than usual. Pay for the person behind you in the drive-thru. Donate a book in Holly’s honor. Turn up the music and dance … the list is endless. Be creative!”
The site also provides the opportunity to make a donation in Holly’s memory to the Baltimore Community Foundation.
