Charles Barkley mocks San Antonio women with churros taunt (vid)
Charles Barkley on Monday night ended his longstanding beef with San Antonio, specifically with the city’s women. But the reason behind Barkley’s sudden change in attitude essentially allowed for another potshot at San Antonio women’s expense.
The feud between Barkley and San Antonio mostly stems from some unflattering comments made by the “NBA on TNT” analyst about San Antonio women back in 2014.
Barkley at the time referred to San Antonio as “a gold mine for Weight Watchers” while suggesting there are “some big ol’ women down there” in the Texas town.
But Barkley seems to have moved on from his insults. And the reason? Discovering churros, apparently.
“I want to apologize to the women of San Antonio,” Barkley said.
When asked by Ernie Johnson what prompted the sudden change of heart after a 12-year feud, Barkley explained.
“Ernie, I had churros last night,” Barkley revealed. “I see what all the excitement is about! Them churros good! I see why they got all the big ol’ women down here — them churros are the bomb!”
Once again, Barkley and his fellow “Inside the NBA” colleagues proved why it’s the most entertaining studio show covering major American sports.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time churros have become a topic of conversation on the TNT show.
Moving on, let’s just say that so-called “apology” from Sir Charles isn’t likely to sit well with the San Antonio women he has endlessly ridiculed over the years. In fact, it may have upped the ante, and we can expect more reactions like this one from a few years back.
