Did Kevin Durant troll Thunder by posing with cupcakes? (pic)

Kevin Durant appeared to up the ante in a beef with the Oklahoma City Thunder by posing with a tray of cupcakes while attending a San Francisco Giants game Thursday night at AT&T Park.

The Golden State Warriors superstar, enjoying some R&R while awaiting his team’s second-round playoff opponent, cheerfully posed with Giants mascot Lou Seal while holding some cupcakes.

Making the assumption that the presence of the cupcakes was by no means mere happenstance, the notion that Durant was attempting to troll the Thunder with the photograph seems likely.

For those catching up, the so-called “Cupcake Wars” between Durant and the Thunder originally was spawned by an Instagram post by Russell Westbrook.

In the immediate aftermath of Durant’s decision to spurn the Thunder and join the Warriors, Westbrook posted a photograph of cupcakes, an apparent reference to the term former Thunder player Kendrick Perkins often used to mock soft players.

Westbrook’s social media musing — presumably at the expense of Durant — inspire the Thunder and its fans to mock Durant during games at Chesapeake Energy Arena this season.

The cupcake bit next inspired Warriors players and the team’s fans to rally around Durant by wearing cupcake shirts in a show of solidarity.

Suffice to say, Durant perpetuating the “Cupcake Wars” probably stings a bit more now that the Thunder have been eliminated and the Warriors’ postseason march soldiers on.
