Jason Motte unrecognizable after daughter helps him shave beard (pics)
Jason Motte recently shaved off one of the gnarliest beards in all of baseball with the help of 4 1/2-year-old daughter Margaret. And now the pitcher is virtually unrecognizable.
After spending last season with the Colorado Rockies, Motte earlier this month signed a minor-league deal with the Atlanta Braves, who have a policy prohibiting facial hair among its minor league players. So, Motte had no choice but to shave off his trademark beard.
But the best part had to be how little Margaret really enjoyed helping out her dad rid himself of his out-of-control facial hair.
Motte, 34, posted photos to Twitter earlier this month documenting the radical makeover.

Motte’s story is attracting attention now because the Braves called him up this week from the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves after allowing zero runs and striking out six in 5 1/3 innings of work.
Motte’s drastically different appearance was even mentioned during a recent Braves broadcast.
And have no fear, beard lovers. Motte plans on growing back his beard soon enough. Although it will take awhile to return it to its original, gnarly form.
