Man wins $42K on $60 bet involving Sergio Garcia winning Masters
Perhaps the only person happier than Sergio Garcia over his major breakthrough win at the Masters was a bettor who parlayed a $60 wager into a $42,000 windfall when the Spaniard beat Justin Rose in a playoff Sunday at Augusta National.
The bettor’s original wager first involved Rickie Fowler winning the Honda Classic, which came to fruition on 16/1 odds. Then Garcia, who was seeking his first major victory in 73 starts, had to come up big in the Masters. The odds were stacked against Garcia, coming in at a 40/1 clip.
When both occurred, the bettor got paid out a whopping $41,773 on the parlay, a remarkable payday, indeed, per a Bovada tweet.

Not a bad gig if you can get it.
