Kids seated courtside sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Stephen Curry (vid)
Stephen Curry on Tuesday celebrated his 29th birthday. Even though the Golden State Warriors superstar was focused on a home-court showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers, there was nevertheless a great pregame moment that helped celebrate his special day.
As Curry put up jumpers during warmups ahead of the game, a sizeable crew of young fans seated courtside serenaded him with “Happy Birthday.”

What made the scene so great is how Curry never broke rhythm while shooting … although perhaps a wink or a nod to the youngsters would have been a nice gesture of gratitude. Maybe this scene simply documents Curry’s laser-sharp focus. Either way, it was awfully nice of the children to sing their best birthday wishes for the superstar.
Curry also took to Instagram during the day to showcase his birthday cake and post a message of thanks.
“Blessed to see another year,” Curry wrote in the post. “So many things to be thankful for! Keep growing, keep pushing, living life….Appreciate everyone who reached out today.”
It’s worth noting that Curry’s cake design was apropos on several fronts.
First, the birthday cake featured his patented mouthguard. Secondly, the cake featured Curry’s logo.
And finally, the symbol for Pi also topped the confectionery creation, which of course made sense because Curry celebrates his birthday every year on what has become known as “Pi Day.”
Sure, Curry’s cake lacked the sort of gaudy and glitzy appeal of the birthday cake one of his fellow NBA superstars recently enjoyed, but it was pretty fancy nevertheless.
Even better? The Warriors beat the Sixers by a score of 106-104, snapping a three-game losing streak. That might have been the best birthday present Curry could have received.
