Jerry Jones’ daughter says she banned him from Twitter
Charlotte Jones Anderson, Jerry Jones’ daughter, understands all too well the potential pitfalls and scandals that social media presents. And when she realized just what kind of havoc her father could wreak with impulsive tweeting, she banned him from even creating an account on the social media platform.
Jones of course has a penchant for odd one-liners and is known to turn an awkward phrase when shooting from the hip.
Anderson, as the Cowboys executive vice president and brand officer, took it upon herself to protect said brand and actually not only banned her father from Twitter, she put the kibosh on fellow Cowboys exec and brother Stephen Jones using it as well.
“Well the others are not on it because I do not trust them to be on it,” Anderson said recently on 105.3 The Fan, via the Dallas Morning News. “I am in charge of the brand so I’ve gotta have just a mild bit of control. So it’s a good thing they don’t know how to do it so that I don’t have to worry about what I’m going to wake up to unlike the others that frequent our locker room.”
All things considered, it’s probably — no, definitely — a good call. Who knows what kind of trouble a verbose Jones could get into on Twitter.
