Le’Veon Bell announces release date for upcoming rap album

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is about to hit the big time with his budding music career by releasing a full-length rap album.

Bell took to Twitter Wednesday to announce the big news that “Post-Interview” will drop on March 1.

The new album comes on the one-year anniversary of his mixtape “The Interview.”

Bell has been pursuing his music career on the side for some time now, even attracting the attention of rap icon — and Steelers superfan — Snoop Dogg, who expressed interest in a collaboration last year.

The Steelers back, who records and produces his own music, discussed how he’s even attracted interest from record labels during a January interview with The MMQB.

“I was like, oh, I’ll never sign with a label. That’s what I was saying months ago. But then when they’re actually calling you, it’s different. It’s like: Oh, man, can I actually do this? Do I really want to do this? Obviously it’s something I have to put on the back burner, because I can’t go meet with them right now.”

Bell recently generated a lot of attention for his rap career by releasing “Shrimp Bayless,” a single that mocked the outspoken talking head, during Super Bowl Week. The buzzed-about track came a few months after Bell released the “Until the Post Interview” EP.

On the field, Bell is slated to become an unrestricted free agent but expressed a desire to stay with the Steelers. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2016, generating 1,884 total yards and nine touchdowns.

Let’s just say if Bell’s upcoming album can even come close to matching the success he enjoyed on the field, he’ll be a very happy man.
