Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly robbed during Super Bowl LI weekend
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly was robbed while attending Super Bowl LI in Houston, according to a Page Six report. Although the nature of said robbery differs depending on which source the New York Post gossip column cites.
Beckham did spend Super Bowl weekend in Houston serving as guest analyst on ESPN’s pregame coverage, that much is certain. Beyond that, the details concerning how things played out involving Beckham being a victim of a crime is a bit murkier.
A Page Six source claims Beckham was robbed of “jewelry and cash” and may have in fact even been mugged.
“It was basically catching him outside at the right time,” said the source.
However, a source purportedly close to the Giants organization says there was no mugging, but Beckham was relieved of some items, albeit nothing too “pricey.”
The report states that Beckham, who was staying at a Houston hotel, also had left a bag of personal items at a friend’s house, which had been broken into.
“He just had some stuff there,” the source said. “Shoes and that sort of thing. It wasn’t anything expensive — just some of his belongings.”
Local police told Page Six there has been no police report filed by Beckham related to the alleged incident. Until Beckham comes out to either confirm or deny the report, what actually occurred is a matter of conjecture and speculation.
