‘Madden’ takes shot over Jerry Jones’ comment on Tony Romo’s Super Bowl chances

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones refused to shut the door on the Tony Romo Era in comments made Tuesday.

In fact, Jones even stated there’s a good chance Romo might one day play in a Super Bowl, so long as he stays healthy.

“I really believe that Tony Romo will play in a Super Bowl,” said on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan. “Now try that one on. I know that if he’s healthy enough, he’ll be in a Super Bowl. I strongly believe that.”

On the other hand, Jones wouldn’t confirm that Romo’s opportunity to play for the Lombardi Trophy would come with the Cowboys.

While Romo’s future in Dallas is uncertain at best, untenable at worst. And despite Jones hinting that Romo could remain on the Cowboys’ roster next season, it’s highly unlikely.

Either way, the wiseacres running the official Twitter account for EA Sports’ “Madden” franchise had a little fun at Romo’s expense in light of Jones’ Super bowl comments.

Ouch. Now that’s kicking a guy when he’s down, to say the least.
