Bryce Harper, Yankees prospect have great Twitter exchange about hair

When it comes to great major league hair, few ballplayers can compare to Bryce Harper. But it appears the time has come for some young up-and-comer to challenge the Washington Nationals slugger when it comes to having the top hair in the game.

And that cocky young buck is Clint Frazier, the highly touted New York Yankees prospect.

Frazier, acquired by the Yankees in the deal that shipped Andrew Miller to the Cleveland Indians, is a well-known commodity not only for his play on the field but also his long mane of red hair. He also attracted some attention last year for making a clumsy play on Twitter for an Instagram model.

Well, Frazier was back on Twitter recently to react to a video posted by Major League Baseball that celebrated Harper’s hairstyle.

The tweet in question whimsically asked if fans needed Harper’s hair and smile back in their lives.

In a reply to the tweet, Frazier touted the merits of his strong hair game.

Harper evidently caught wind of Frazier’s boast, as he replied to point out that while Frazier’s long and flowing hairstyle may be impressive, it won’t be that way for long.

As Harper correctly points out, the Yankees are one of the few MLB teams who have a strict hair/facial hair policy. With that in mind, Frazier will have to cut those locks before reaching the big leagues.

Frazier, though, wasn’t about to let Harper get in the last word on the topic and actually figured out a way to take a shot at the former MVP in the process.

Given Harper grew up rooting for the Yankees, Frazier’s response about donning the pinstripes can’t be considered anything less than Grade-A trolling. Bravo.
