Claymation used to hype LeBron James, Dwyane Wade settling W.S. bet (vids)

The sports world is waiting with baited breath as Friday marks the day LeBron James will finally settle his World Series bet with Dwyane Wade by donning Chicago Cubs gear. And for those who cannot wait for the evidently momentous event to occur, James’ multimedia site Uninterrupted is teasing the superstar settling the score with his longtime pal by posting two amusing Claymation videos.

Suffice to say, the entire thing arguably is getting a wee bit out of hand.

It all started when James and Wade made a highly publicized wager over the outcome of the Fall Classic match-up between the former’s hometown Cleveland Indians and the latter’s hometown squad. The Cubbies of course snapped their century-plus World Series drought in a seven-game thriller, meaning James — who actually is a longtime Yankees fan but hopped on the Indians bandwagon this fall —  is on the hook to wear a Cubs uniform.

James’ Cleveland Cavaliers are in the Windy City to face Wade’s Chicago Bulls squad on Friday night, creating the ideal environment to settle the bet.

“I’m not wearing cleats,” James said Thursday, via the Chicago Tribune. “I got a basketball game to play. No glove. Just the uniform. I will be in uniform.

“It’s a bet. You have to fulfill your bet. Nothing more to it.”

A simple bet it may be in a sense, but ESPN is turning the thing into a complete spectacle with coverage throughout the day tat features the network’s Sarah Spain contributing to the hype.

But even before Friday arrived, James’ Uninterrupted has been keeping followers apprised of the developments on social media, starting with a video of a Cubs uniform hanging in an empty locker room.

And then came two amusing Claymation videos documenting the upcoming “event” on Thursday.

All this for a seemingly simple World Series wager, albeit one between two of the sport world’s biggest stars. Only in America.
