Jahlil Okafor rocks Kansas gear after losing bet to Joel Embiid (pic)

A friendly wager between Philadelphia 76ers teammates Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid resulted in the former having to don the latter’s college team’s colors.

The subject of the bet was the big-time, early-season showdown between Okafor’s No. 1-ranked Duke Blue Devils and Embiid’s No. 8-ranked Kansas Jayhawks Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden in the Champions Classic.

The Jayhawks came out of the heavyweight match-up with a thrilling 77-75 victory, highlighted by Kansas guard Frank Mason III’s game-winner with 1.3 seconds left.

Shortly after the game, Embiid took to Twitter to taunt his teammate, presumably well aware of the fact that some comeuppance due to the wager was imminent.

And imminent it was, as Embiid returned to Twitter Wednesday morning to document for the social media masses what was riding on the outcome of the game.

Quite the nice touch by Embiid to make note of “Rock Chalk, Jayhawk” in his hashtag usage.

Sure, things could have just as easily went in Okafor’s favor, but not this time. Perhaps the Blue Devils and Jayhawks will meet again in March, with much more riding on the outcome during a showdown in the NCAA tournament than what Okafor or Embiid would have to humiliatingly wear.

And if the two choose to make another wager? Keep the social media world posted, fellas.
