LeBron James showcases title ring, expresses gratitude on Instagram (pic)
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers raised their championship banner into the Quicken Loans Arena rafters and received their title rings in a pregame ceremony on Tuesday night. The squad then went out and whipped the New York Knicks in the season-opening tilt by a score of 117-88.
But with the pomp and circumstance of the evening — not to mention keeping an eye on the Indians in Game 1 of the World Series — James took a moment Wednesday morning to reflect on all that’s transpired while showcasing his new flashy championship bling in a heartfelt post on Instagram.
“There’s just not enough words I can put together to express the feelings I had when I received this last night! Emotions was running heavy and I’m just so proud of my teammates, their joy and happiness receiving theirs as well! It was a SPECIAL night to say the lease and I’ll never forget that moment for the rest of my life,” James wrote in the post. “Final thing THANK YOU and you’re extremely welcome to our UNBELIEVABLE fans for sharing that moment with us because honestly we did it for yall! #StriveForGreatness #RWTW #TheKidFromAkron #TheLand”
It merits noting that the Cavaliers’ championship ring features a not-so-subtle reminder to the Golden State Warriors that they surrendered a 3-1 series lead to inexplicably lose the Finals.

That aside, the social media musings allowed James a moment to take a breath, celebrate what he and the Cavaliers accomplished last season and turn the page. And if his virtuoso 19-point, 11-rebound and 14-assist triple-double performance is any indication, James is looking put his stamp on the 2016-17 NBA season as well.
