Brandon Marshall says Broncos defense wants to ‘kill’ Brock Osweiler

Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall made it abundantly clear that the team has very special plans for Brock Osweiler upon his return to Denver on Monday night for the first time as a member of the Houston Texans.

Put plainly, not to mention graphically, Marshall says the Broncos defense wants to “kill” Osweiler.

Osweiler of course spurned the Broncos in the offseason, signing a four-year, $72-million deal with the Texans. While Marshall says he’s “happy” for his former teammate, it doesn’t mean the Broncos defense intend to play nice once the teams take the field come Monday night.

“There’s no ill will toward Brock. I am happy he got paid,” Marshall said, via Denver’s ABC7 “But it’s competition. We want to kill him.”

This week’s threat from Marshall isn’t even the first time he discussed the prospect of exacting revenge on Osweiler for leaving the Broncos.

“I hope he’s ready,” Marshall said in April shortly after Osweiler’s contract was announced. “Cuz we’re coming for him.”

The jury is still out on whether or not Osweiler deserved the kind of deal the Texans offered him, one that included $36 million in guaranteed money. Results have been mixed at best and the case can be made that Houston sits with a respectable 4-2 record in spite of Osweiler’s play, not because of it.

But as far as Marshall’s threat is concerned, between Osweiler’s lackluster play and the Broncos’ desire to apparently “kill” their former teammate — metaphorically speaking, presumably — it could prove to be a very, very long Monday night for one Brock Osweiler.
