French-speaking broadcaster loses mind calling Blue Jays’ HRs (vids)

There are few things as entertaining in sports broadcasting as listening to non-English-speaking announcers calling traditionally “American” sporting events. Case in point: Listen to this French-speaking broadcaster call Melvin Upton Jr.’s home run during the Toronto Blue Jays’ 10-1 victory over the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the ALDS.

Sacrebleu!

If that’s not entertaining enough, here he is reacting to Jose Bautista’s three-run bomb in the ninth inning that put the Jays up 10-0.

Fantastic. French-speaking folks obviously can understand what this guy is saying beyond his entertaining histrionics. But to be perfectly honest, understanding French isn’t even necessary to appreciate the call for all its passionate brilliance.
