LeBron James, Cavaliers rallying around Indians for postseason run

The Cavaliers were the benefactors of tremendous support from fellow Cleveland pro sports teams during their run to an NBA title. Now it’s their turn to rally in support of the Indians’ push for championship glory.

A video was played on Quicken Loans Arena’s Jumbotron during the Cavs’ preseason opener Wednesday that celebrated the AL Central division-winning Indians. The video featured best wishes from LeBron James, James Jones, Mike Dunleavy, Chris Andersen and Richard Jefferson interspersed with Indians highlights.

The Indians square off with Boston Red Sox Thursday night at Progressive Field in Game 1 of the teams’ ALDS series. With that in mind, James firmly hopped on the Indians bandwagon by taking to social media to send his own personal good luck message.

James also took to Instagram to send some more positive mojo the Indians’ way. The post featured an image of his camouflage Indians cap along with the message, “Light it up tonight, boys!! Tribe has us feeling some type of way in October.”

The Cavaliers superstar unfortunately won’t be able to make it to Game 1 Thursday night, but intends to be at Game 2.

“I can’t make it (Thursday night for Game 1) — my wife got an event tomorrow that I gotta be there for but I plan on going on Friday,” James said, via Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon.

It’s noted in Vardon’s report that James was tabbed in the past as a New York Yankees fan.  His social media activity of late, however, indicates he’s taken a shine of late to the Indians.

That sounds about right.
