Massive David Ortiz mosaic created out of 10,000 donuts (vid)

In a tribute that would make Homer Simpson drool uncontrollably, Dunkin Donuts unveiled a large David Ortiz mosaic constructed entirely out of 10,000 donuts.

Video was posted to YouTube Tuesday showcasing the mosaic’s creation.

Ortiz of course is retiring as soon as the Boston Red Sox’s run in the postseason comes to an end. He’s been the benefactor of countless tributes — a corn maze and a Big Papi retirement scented candle to name a few — but the donut mosaic obviously is the most appetizing, as it were.

Ortiz and Dunkin Donuts have enjoyed an endorsement partnership going back to 2014. But perhaps the coolest part of it all is that Dunkin Donuts donated $0.34 to The Greater Boston Food Bank for every donut used in the mosaic. That amounts to $3,400. Not too shabby.
