Yasiel Puig gives young Dodgers fan bat after push-up challenge (vid)

Yasiel Puig made the day of one young fan before the Los Angeles Dodgers played the San Diego Padres Thursday at Petco Park.

The Dodgers slugger noticed a sign held by 12-year-old Noah Rosenberg that read, “Dreams can come true! Will do push ups 4 a bat!”

Puig, showcasing his #PuigYourFriend tendencies, then invited Rosenberg down to the field and challenged the youngster to do 50 push-ups. If he could do it, Puig would give him a bat.

ESPN Dodgers beat writer Doug Padilla shared video of Rosenberg giving it his best effort, with Puig offering up encouragement along the way.

It’s great how Puig gave him a cup of water and mopped off the boy’s brow after putting forth a decent effort. And, as the challenge was spelled out on the sign, Puig gave Rosenberg a bat as a reward for the quality attempt.

All in all, not a bad day at the ballpark for the young Dodgers fan. Not a bad day, indeed. And hey, it’s not a bad way to get a piece of baseball memorabilia from Puig. Just look at what this Dodgers fan had to go through to get her souvenir from Puig.
