TSA denies report Josh Gordon tried to smuggle marijuana onto plane

A TSA source has told TMZ that despite reports to the contrary, Josh Gordon did not attempt to smuggle marijuana onto a plane at a Cleveland airport.

The troubled Gordon, who announced Thursday he would delay his return to the Cleveland Browns to enter in-patient treatment, evidently was screened by the TSA but no drugs were found.

“The reports you’re seeing are totally false,” the source told TMZ.

The alleged incident in question comes from a report from that claims Gordon attempted to smuggle approximately a pound of marijuana onto a flight out of Cleveland Hopkins airport.

“According to sources, Gordon entered Cleveland Hopkins Airport via an underground entrance and was escorted to the upper level to pass through security for his flight. He was accompanied by a member of his security detail. A TSA representative on the upper level recognized Gordon and his security from the below ground level just moments prior. Due to the strange nature of Gordon being shuffled through the airport, the TSA pulled Gordon aside, checked baggage in the possession of he and his security and found what our source tells us was nearly one pound of pot in their possession.”

It appears the original report has since been taken down from the site.

According to a “highly connected” TSA source, nothing of the sort occurred.

“Gordon was screened by TSA last night (Thursday) without incident,” the source explained to TMZ.
