Is Jerry Jones exhibiting signs of quasi-man crush on Jay-Z?

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has to be feeling pretty good about his team’s 2-1 start despite having to start rookie Dak Prescott for the injured Tony Romo. So instead of spending time lamenting over a tough loss during a radio appearance Jones opted to share a strange story involving Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z.

Jones clearly has an affinity for the supercouple and apparently has established some kind of friendship with them given the two sat in his owner’s box at AT&T Stadium during Sunday night’s victory over the Chicago Bears.

But the story Jones shared goes all the way back to 2004 when Beyonce, then with Destiny’s Child, performed at halftime during the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day game.

“As a matter of fact, they were planning to perform and it was so cold you couldn’t stand it out there on Thanksgiving Day,” Jones said during a Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan. “And I got them all coats from Neiman Marcus. And to this day, one of the things that we kind of smile about are those jackets that we got them so that they could go out there and do a good job and give us Thanksgiving Day halftime. Boy, I’m telling you, she’s phenomenal.”

When asked his opinion of Jay-Z, Jones practically gushed over the hip hop mogul.

“He, as an individual, is one of the neatest people that I’ve met,” Jones said. “Make no mistake about it, he’s the real deal. He’s as easy to be around, talk to, as sharp as anybody I’ve met. I see what she sees in him.”

Indeed. Suffice to say, it certainly appears Jones is harboring some kind of quasi-man crush on Jay-Z. But who’s to blame him? It’s hard not to envy a guy married to Queen Bey, right?
