Footage surfaces from Tim Tebow’s baseball workout (pics/vids)

Tim Tebow’s much ballyhooed baseball workout was held Tuesday, and reporters and the like in attendance have taken to Twitter to document how things were going as it happened.

At least 40 scouts from approximately 20 MLB organizations — along with an estimated 50 members of the media — are attending the former football player’s workout. And what can be gathered from what’s been tweeted out thus far is that Tebow remains in incredible shape. How that translates to him proving he can be an effective baseball player — at any level — remains to be seen.

Tebow demonstrated his skills in the outfield and it appears his arm strength remains an issue, something that also served as a shortcoming for him with a football in his hand and ultimately hampered his NFL career.

And it appears he on at least one occasion demonstrated some accuracy in a relay from short right field to home plate.

But Tebow was criticized for his technique by one observer.

Tebow then took some swings, with the first cuts coming inside away from cameras.

But it was then outside for some swings from Tebow against live pitching.

The Big Lead’s Jason McIntyre reports Tebow got a real nice hold of one offering.

A potentially good showing during Tuesday’s workout notwithstanding, the prospects of Tebow’s foray into professional baseball resulting in anything of any substance of course remains to be seen, although it has to be viewed as a distinct long shot.

The reactions from experts, analysts and the like — in attendance and otherwise — will begin to trickle in coming days, but Tebow’s tryout likely will end up as nothing more than a glorified circus sideshow.
