Josh Norman flattered by Odell Beckham Jr.’s continued trash talk

Both Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr. have attempted at various points since their infamous brawl last season to put an end to their feud. Despite their apparent best efforts, the trash talk persisted throughout the offseason.

With the two former combatants residing in the same division it now it appears that the new Washington Redskins cornerback finally is prepared to enter into a quasi-cease-fire of sorts with the New York Giants wide receiver.

But Norman wasn’t ready to make peace before making one last snarky comment about Beckham.

“I must be doing something right with how much the guy is talking about me,” Norman told The New York Post this week. “But you won’t hear me talking about him.”

Norman also attempted to downplay the notion that there will be additional on-field fireworks when the two square off twice next season as NFC East rivals, although he previously stated he’s excited over the opportunity.

“He’s just one of the receivers in the division,” Norman said of Beckham. “I feel the same way about Dez Bryant and now [recent Eagles acquisition] Dorial Green-Beckham. I already go against one of the best receivers in the league in practice in DeSean Jackson, and Pierre [Garcon] is great, too.”

Beckham similarly has expressed fatigue over the feud, although he recently implied during an interview with GQ magazine that Norman signed with the Redskins to stay relevant.

In other words, these two stars, who clearly enjoy the limelight, can continue to downplay the feud all they want. But it’s plainly evident that neither one of them is ready to let it go. How Norman and Beckham really feel about one another will be learned when the Redskins and Giants square off for the first time on Sept. 25.
