In what will likely upset the Green Bay Packers faithful to no end, Brett Favre’s display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame not only features a replica of the Green & Gold jersey he wore for 16 years, it will also include a Minnesota Vikings jersey as well.

Thankfully, for Favre, there is evidently no mention of his one-year detour with the New York Jets.

The decision to include a memento from Favre’s two-season stint as a Viking — where he arguably put up his finest NFL statistical season, completing 68 percent of his passes for 4,202 yards and 33 touchdowns to only seven interceptions — was at the sole discretion of the Hall of Fame.

“The Hall’s curatorial staff selects the artifacts for exhibit,” Pete Fierle, vice president of communications for the Hall of Fame, told ESPN.com.

“That is an exhibit for the Class of 2016,” Fierle said. “There are eight lockers created, one for each enshrinee. They contain artifacts of each Hall of Famer.”

That said, despite how upsetting it may be for Packers fans to see a Vikings jersey in his Hall of Fame locker, there’s no need to open up old wounds, especially after how wonderfully Favre was welcomed back into the fold last season.

In any event, Favre will be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Aug. 6. He has chosen wife Deanna as his presenter.
