Bill Belichick jokes about Pats fans celebrating Tom Brady’s birthday (vids)
Tom Brady had to celebrate his 39th birthday Wednesday at New England Patriots training camp practice. And while there’s probably no other place the superstar quarterback would rather be, Patriots fans in attendance at the morning session made sure Brady at least had “Happy Birthday” sung to him.

Patriots fans also arrived at training camp with signs articulating best wishes over Brady turning 39, a remarkable accomplishment in its own rights.
As noted by CBS Sports, Brady is the oldest non-kicking player in the NFL, with only Adam Vinatieri (43), Matt Bryant (41), Phil Dawson (41) and Shane Lechler (39) being older than him.
Perhaps the best part of the impromptu quasi-birthday party for Brady was Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, in a departure from his typical curmudgeonly self, observed that offensive lineman Chris Barker, who also celebrated a birthday on Wednesday, turning 26, was being slighted.
“I don’t think we want to miss Chris Barker’s birthday either, as long as we’re celebrating,” Belichick observed, via CBS Boston.
When asked if he had something special planned for Brady on his special day, Belichick didn’t miss a beat.
“Practicing,” he quipped, evidently with a giant grin.
Vintage Belichick. Like Brady, he might just be getting better with age as well.
