Sigh: NFL congratulates Jordan Rodgers on ‘Bachelorette’ win
Fans of “The Bachelorette” got their predictable happy ending — because every ending of these kind of relationship-based reality shows are “happy” at the onset — when JoJo Fletcher chose to spend her foreseeable future with Jordan Rodgers over … the other guy.
Rodgers, the big winner of Monday’s finale of course is the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The reality show star also enjoyed a short stint in the NFL after starring in college at Vanderbilt.
But it was Jordan’s willingness to discuss at length during the show how Aaron is evidently estranged from the rest of the family that made his appearance so memorable. In fact, it became such a topic of conversation that the Packers QB was asked about his younger brother’s comments. Aaron wasn’t inclined to address Jordan’s allegations and reasonably avoided discussing such a personal matter to any extent.
Despite the younger Rodgers’ very brief pro football career — he spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins between 2013 and 2014 — the NFL nevertheless decided to congratulate Rodgers and Fletcher on their … whatever it is they have.
Congrats, @JRodgers11 & @JoelleFletcher! #TheBachelorette https://t.co/qVKmVHLPVw

Weird stuff. It’s interesting how not one highlight the NFL used in the congratulatory video featured any, you know, footage from Rodgers’ pro football career. Then again, there wasn’t much to speak of in the first place, making the decision by the NFL to issue such a ridiculously cheesy tweet such a curious one.
