Jason Williams calls Charles Barkley a ‘loser’ over Kevin Durant criticism
Former NBA player Jason Williams has called out Charles Barkley over his criticism of Kevin Durant, referring to the NBA on TNT analyst as a “loser.”
Williams, better known as “White Chocolate” during his NBA playing days, went after Barkley following a recent appearance in a semi-pro basketball tournament. The crux of his criticism stem from how Barkley lambasted Durant for trying to “cheat his way into a championship” by joining the Golden State Warriors.
“Ah man, you can’t put me on Kevin Durant’s level first and foremost,” Williams said, via Mike Ortiz Jr. of Did You See That?! “If I was Kevin Durant and that’s what I wanted to do, then that’s what I would’ve done. I wouldn’t have made a decision based on anybody else. Because it seems like he’s done that for 8 or 9 years now. You know you’ve gotta take care of yourself and make yourself happy at the end of the day. I mean all these guys [Charles] Barkley and them talking about oh they wouldn’t have done it, well they was never free agents back in the day…like they didn’t have the choice. Nobody wanted his ass [Barkley] on their team because he was a loser. So that’s what I think about that.”
Barkley has since defended himself over the criticism of Durant, although many have accused the former NBA star for being arguably hypocritical as some have pointed out Barkley seemingly orchestrated his trade from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets in 1996.
But what makes Williams’ hammering of Barkley such an interesting development is that another former NBA player who shares the same name — albeit with a different spelling of the first name — just last week shared a hilarious practice story about Barkley that involved a fast food breakfast and a stationary bike.
