Lindsey Vonn on Tiger Woods: ‘I still love him’

Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods split up more than a year ago after dating for two years. But the Olympian still harbors strong feelings for the pro golfer, and said as much during an appearance Wednesday on “Access Hollywood Live.

While things didn’t work out from a romantic perspective, Vonn says she and Woods remain close.

“I still love him,” Vonn said of Woods, who has also had been candid when discussing the relationship. “He is a great guy and he is a great father, and I have the utmost respect for him and I wish him the best and we are friends. We are just two adults and it didn’t work out.”

Vonn’s comments echo essentially what she said last December when speaking of her former relationship, one that ended amid wild rumors of Woods cheating on her with the then-wife of a fellow PGA Tour golfer.

Vonn has often spoke highly of Woods since the two split up, so it’s hardly surprising she continues to do so whenever she’s asked about him. And Vonn became close with Woods’ children, hailing the golfer as a terrific father.

But that relationship is in the past and Vonn says she’s ready to jump back into the dating pool — “single and I am ready to mingle,” she quipped — while also admitting the lure of parenthood.

“I would love to be a mom. I just don’t know … I kind of need a guy first,” Vonn told CNN. “[Dating is] tough. Most of the time the normal guys are too intimidated and the guys that have enough confidence, have too much confidence. It’s really hard, I haven’t navigated my way very well.”

Vonn later took to Twitter to clarify her comments concerning motherhood.

Vonn currently is prepping for the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
