Did Kirk Cousins take a cheap shot at RG3 on Twitter? (pic)
Kirk Cousins of course came out the big winner due to Robert Griffin III’s fall from grace within the Washington Redskins organization, replacing the former top draft pick after Jay Gruden unceremoniously benched RG3 during training camp before last season.
While Cousins said and did all the right things about RG3 as the former superstar signal-caller plummeted down the depth chart — while being praised for the mature way he handled things — the case can be made that the current starting Redskins quarterback took a potshot at his former teammate with a recent tweet celebrating his wedding anniversary.
2 years ago today, I traded all my draft picks for this 1st rounder! So glad that I did… https://t.co/IPfonOXnor pic.twitter.com/ZgmVITADcZ

The Redskins of course paid an enormously steep price to draft RG3 second-overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, sending the Rams their first-round picks in 2012, 2013 and 2014 as well as their second-round pick in 2012. While the decision seemed brilliant at the time after Griffin received a Pro Bowl nod in his first season, being named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, injuries and ineffectiveness completely derailed his career.
And now, the Redskins’ failed RG3 experiment — which effectuated his move to the Cleveland Browns this offseason — is possibly proving to be comedic fodder on social media for the quarterback who so competently replaced him.
