Johnny Manziel appears to taunt father in Instagram post (pic)
Johnny Manziel currently is vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the former NFL quarterback has responded to some harsh comments from his father with what certainly seems like an outright taunt on social media.
Manziel, regaled in a jersey of former Cleveland Browns teammate and pal Josh Gordon, is seen overlooking a scenic seaside view in an Instagram post published Tuesday.
In comments directed toward Gordon, Manziel writes the following in the post:
“I won’t take this thing off for a week. You my brother FOR LIFE. JUST WAIT ON THIS COMEBACK!!!! #CaboWabo #JoshAintHere #hiDad”
The comeback reference obviously would typically be the most interesting component of Manziel’s comments — given he’s essentially an untouchable commodity from any NFL team’s perspective at this point — but the use of the #hiDad hashtag is especially compelling.
This notion mostly stems from how Manziel’s father Paul told ESPN that his son is a “druggie” and that he hopes his son gets jail time in his domestic violence case, among other critical comments about the troubled young man.
“He’s a druggie. It’s not a secret that he’s a druggie,” Paul Manziel told ESPN. “I don’t know what to say other than my son is a druggie and he needs help. He just hasn’t [sought] it yet. Hopefully he doesn’t die before he comes to his senses. That’s about all you can say. I don’t know what else to say.
“I hate to say it but I hope he goes to jail. I mean, that would be the best place for him. So we’ll see.”
Manziel obviously have been in a downward spiral for some time. So much so, in fact, that his father openly worried many months ago that his son could very well die by continuing on the same hard-partying, hard-living path. It certainly looks like Manziel isn’t taking his father’s condemning comments all that seriously.
