The Colorado Rockies decided to go with a themed team dress code — not an uncommon practice among MLB teams — for a flight to Florida and a four-game tilt with the Miami Marlins. And the chosen look even prompted the Rockies Twitter account to point out the players resembled members of one of the most popular boy bands of all-time.

As the Rockies — fresh off a two-game sweep of the New York Yankees and a 32-33 record — embarked upon their trip to Miami, the team posted the following images to Facebook showcasing the team “whiteout.”

It didn’t take long for snarky social media types to correctly point out the Rockies players looked like members of the Backstreet Boys in their classic video for “I Want It That Way.”

The wisenheimers running the Rockies’ official Twitter account either noticed the tweeted observations or recognized it themselves, something that wouldn’t have been all-too-difficult in total honesty.

To utilize a phrase from the Backstreet Boys’ smash hit: “Tell me why,” indeed.
