Nightmare fuel: Calvin Johnson posts pics from surgery on mangled finger
Calvin Johnson may have hung up his cleats for good after announcing his retirement in March after an outstanding nine-year NFL career with the Detroit Lions, but the toll football took on his body apparently needed to documented.
Case in point: The wide receiver suffered a gruesome finger injury during the 2013 season, something that prevented the digit from bending normally. The mangled mess of a finger was easily noticeable and Johnson had to undergo surgery in an attempt to repair the damage.
Well, Johnson decided to share some disturbing images from the surgery.
Beware, the images shared by Johnson are quite ghastly and not for the squeamish. Viewer discretion is advised.
Sweet Fancy Moses! What could have possibly compelled Johnson to post such a nightmare fuel image? Is he some kind of sadistic sicko hellbent on causing everyone on the Internet to squirm and perhaps even throw up in their mouth a little?
No bueno, man. No bueno at all.
It merits mentioning that Johnson’s post was in response to how former NFC North rival and current free agent cornerback Charles “Peanut” Tillman recently posted a photo to Instagram showcasing how he similarly has one mangled mess of a finger, too.

Now why would I go ahead and share that image as well? Am I, like Johnson, some kind of sadistic sicko hellbent on causing everyone on the Internet to squirm and perhaps even throw up in their mouth a little?
