Broncos’ Brandon Marshall on Brock Osweiler: ‘We’re coming for him’

The NFL announced the 2016 regular season schedule on Thursday, and at least one member of the Denver Broncos already has his eyes on the team’s opponent in Week 7.

In a Monday Night Football game slated for Oct. 24, the Broncos will host the Houston Texans in a game when the Super Bowl champions will be able to have their first regular-season look at Brock Osweiler in a different uniform.

The former Broncos quarterback of course signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Texans in March, something that hasn’t sat well with some of his former teammates, a group that apparently includes linebacker Brandon Marshall.

Several Broncos players have weighed in on Osweiler’s departure, and the initial reactions were somewhat mixed, to no surprise. While some have been cordial about the quarterback taking the big money — Von Miller for one said he understood — others appeared reluctant to endorse Osweiler’s decision.

Aqib Talib, who knows a thing or two about navigating a change of scenery given he’s played for three teams during his eight-year NFL career, says he warned Osweiler, not to mention other Broncos free agents, about the risk involved in making a move, saying, “It’s not always greener on the other side.”

Apparently, Marshall hopes to at the very least help Osweiler get an up-close-and-personal look at the color of the turf at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Determining the color of the grass on the other side will be left to Osweiler to figure out on his own.
