Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook give Kobe Bryant a scrapbook (pic)

Before the Oklahoma City Thunder throttled the Los Angeles Lakers by as score of 112-79 on Monday in Kobe Bryant’s penultimate game of his storied career, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook presented the retiring icon with a commemorative scrapbook that featured a personal message from each Thunder player.

It was a thoughtful gesture, to be sure, but an interesting one to say the least. Then again, at least it was a real present and not a gag gift, which is what some of Bryant’s NBA brethren have given him during his farewell tour.

One may recall that Paul gifted Bryant dental adhesive, reading glasses, compression socks and a cane earlier this season. Dwyane Wade gave Bryant a one-year subscription to Netflix and a robe.

Maybe all of Bryant’s NBA pals should have gotten together to give him one of those $38,000, gold-studded Kobe caps the Lakers currently are hawking as the superstar’s season-long swan song ends Wednesday with a tilt against the Utah Jazz at Staples Center.
