Rob Gronkowski plays police officer in latest absurd Instagram vid

Rob Gronkowski proudly — and in an amusingly absurd manner — made his debut on Instagram about one week ago. And the perpetual man-child that is the New England Patriots tight end has wasted no time familiarizing himself with the many comically ridiculous possibilities inherent to the posting of short videos on social media.

To wit: On Wednesday, Gronk took to Instagram to post a video in which he’s impersonating a police officer. But not just any kind of police officer, though. Instead, the kind who patrols the beat on a motorcycle. We’re talking all-out Erik Estrada here, folks. Full-on “CHiPs” mode, people.

“Officer Gronkowski, report to work!” someone says.

“Copy that!” Gronk yells in acknowledgement before operating the motorcycle’s sirens while doing a bizarre shimmy-shake-type thing.

To be honest, “Gronk Cop” has a nice ring to it. Perhaps as a midseason replacement series on some random cable channel. Admit it, you’d watch it.

Gronk writes in the post: “Bad Boyz- Bad Boyz whatcha gonna do when the #Gronk comes for you,” before adding the hashtags #support #the #police while giving a shout-out to the Miami Beach Police Department.

The aforementioned police department also posted this Gronk photo-op on Wendesday:

So, uh, yeah. Let’s put it this way: While Gronk’s forays into Instagram video nonsense is hysterical in its own way, he’s not going to unseat Tom Brady as the Patriots’ resident social media wisenheimer.
