John Daly once again hawking merchandise at Augusta Hooters (pics)
If the Masters truly is “A tradition unlike any other,” as Jim Nantz puts it, then the annual pilgrimage made by John Daly to Augusta to hawk his wares at the local Hooters during Masters Week is “A tradition unlike any other spawned by a tradition unlike any other.”
This morning I saw John Daly hawking merchandise in the parking lot of the Augusta Hooters … a tradition unlike any other.

Daly announced last month that once again he would set up shop at the Hooters just down the road from the Augusta National Golf Club in order to piggyback how the Georgia town becomes the center of the golf universe during the season’s first major as a way to boost his profile and make some sales in the process.

And Daly’s fans come in droves to meet the 49-year-old golfer, who will soon be competing on the Champions Tour as soon as he hits 50 later this month.

The entire spectacle boasts a circus-like atmosphere every year, which is hardly surprising given Daly serves as its ringleader.
