Minor League Baseball

IronPigs’ new ‘pulled pork parfait’ is certainly … something (pic)

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, know a thing or two about generating interest in the team and promoting its product. But the minor league outfit may have gone too far — perhaps in a good way, perhaps not — with its latest concession stand offering: A pulled pork parfait.

Technically speaking, there is much more to this … interesting looking item than simply pulled pork poured into a see-through glass. It actually also boasts macaroni and cheese, bacon and scallions. You know, to round it all out.

Oddball ballpark fare obviously is not a new phenomenon. But this latest offering may take the cake. Or pig.

There you have it, folks. It is often said that we first eat with our eyes. Whether that is helping or harming this particular item is in the eye of the beholder, of course.

Perhaps surprisingly, this isn’t even the first time a ballpark patron could score something from the “pulled pork parfait” theme. The Milwaukee Brewers have their own version of this dish.

As you can see, the folks running the Brewers’ ballpark concessions opted for mashed potatoes instead of mac n’ cheese. Interesting.

Even better, this bad boy actually has its over Twitter page, too. Only in America.
