Marvin Harrison on T.O.’s Hall of Fame complaints: ‘The hell with him’

The case can be made that Marvin Harrison and Terrell Owens are two of the finest wide receivers of their era. But when the Hall of Fame voting results were announced earlier this year, only one of them made the cut, and it wasn’t T.O.

Owens arguably merits inclusion in the Pro Football Hall of Fame — after all, he’s second all-time in receiving yards and third all- time in receiving touchdowns — but he was a divisive, controversial player that likely rubbed a lot of voters the wrong way.

In any event, Owens complained quite a bit once it was announced he wasn’t voted in, and as far as Harrison is concerned, it’s too bad for T.O.

“I’m not concerned about, you know, T.O. Not one bit,” Harrison said during an interview on Talk of Fame Radio, via The Big Lead. “I was concerned about myself. I wasn’t worried about splitting the vote with anyone. That was it.

“The person who was supposed to get in got in. And that was me. If he didn’t get in, that’s his problem. He can talk all that other bulls**t like he’s been doing. That’s on him. But I’m in. My jacket is gold. I will look in the rear view for nobody.

“So he can get his ass in whenever he gets in … if he gets in. If he doesn’t get in too bad. The hell with him.’’

Harrison’s regular season numbers were marginally better than the stats Owens put up, but T.O.’s postseason stats were superior to Harrison’s. It’s arguably a lock that Owens eventually will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. But if for some strange reason he’s not, Marvin Harrison isn’t going to lose any sleep over it.
