The New York Mets announced during the offseason that not only would the organization hold a special weekend during the 2016 season to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1986 World Series-winning squad, the team would don the uniform from that year on occasion as a tribute.
The Mets this week have unveiled exactly what those uniforms would appear, via Twitter.

As noted in the tweet, the Mets will be wearing the throwbacks for every Sunday home game for the entire season.
But the highlight of the season-long celebration will be the weekend commemorating the organization’s last championship. It is scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend on May 27-29 with the highlight coming on the 28th when former manager Davey Johnson and every other player from the championship team being invited back for a pregame ceremony.
No word on whether Bill Buckner will be invited as a special honored guest. Probably not.
