James Harrison documents random drug test on Instagram
James Harrison’s agent on Tuesday confirmed that the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker will indeed return for one more season during which he’ll be 38 years old.
On Wednesday, he was subjected to a random drug test by the NFL.
Harrison took to Instagram to document that drug-testing process from beginning to end, save for the middle portion which of course would be unsuitable for sharing.
“Random PED test first thing this am! Shorts to the ankles like you did as a kid!” Harrison wrote.
He then documented the labeling process of his sample.
There you have it.
Harrison was among the handful of athletes linked in an Al Jazeera America documentary — with Peyton Manning being the highest-profile football player — to an Indiana clinic alleged to have provided NFL players with HGH.
Harrison later came out and vehemently denied the allegations.
“I never took steroids,” Harrison said, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “Point blank, period. End of discussion.”
“You have to check your facts before you write something like that,” Harrison said of the allegations in the documentary, via ESPN. “Just because somebody says it doesn’t mean it’s true. Now I have to fight it because I look like I could be [doing it].”
Given the timing of the drug test, Harrison arguably made a real good — and accurate — point.
