Did Markieff Morris give the middle finger to heckling Suns fan?
In an evening already overwrought with drama for the Phoenix Suns, Markieff Morris made some kind of gesture — perhaps an obscene one — towards a heckling fan as he made his way to the locker room after the team’s 112-104 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
As the Suns and Morris walked off the court, the disgruntled can be seen raising his right hand up immediately after the heckler yells, “Markieff, you (expletive) suck. I can’t wait ’til we trade you” in a video featuring explicit language posted to Facebook by Michael Hill.
It’s difficult to distinguish whether Morris was giving the heckler the middle finger or some other kind of gesture, but it’s clear he heard what the unhappy fan had to say.
Morris’ rough night didn’t begin with his interaction with the heckling fan, either, as the Suns forward got into an argument that escalated into a shoving match with Archie Goodwin on the bench, with Morris grabbing his teammate’s throat during the brief melee.
Morris downplayed the incident after the game, but given he’s essentially doing everything in his power to force his way out of Phoenix after the team traded twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons last summer. It would seem the combined antics on Wednesday night only further complicates the situation, to say the least.
