Minnesota girls’ H.S. goalie makes 112 saves in 6-OT game, loses
Taylor DeForrest, a junior goalie for the Apple Valley (Minn.) Eagles girls’ high school hockey team somehow managed to make 112 saves on 115 shots in a six-overtime game … and still was on the wrong end in heartbreaking 3-2 loss.
When it was all said and done courtesy of a goal from East Ridge (Minn.) Raptors senior forward Anya Hafiz after over 121 minutes played, the Raptors advanced in the state tournament courtesy of an amazing Class 2A, Section 3 girls’ hockey quarterfinal.
The Apple Valley Eagles Athletics Twitter account chronicled all the action, as did the Twitter handle for Apple Valley Women’s Hockey. What follows are some of the highlights.
Regardless of the outcome, this game has been epic. Effort on both sides has been tremendous! @AVHSWHockey @ERHSRaptorsAD
